High-speed chase ends up in Bexar County

Police say two people who stole a car at gunpoint in Castroville are under arrest after a high-speed chase ended on San Antonio’s North Side early Saturday morning, February 8, 2019.

Castroville police began chasing a man and woman they suspected of stealing an automobile sometime before 3 a.m., according to law enforcement at the scene.

The chase involved multiple agencies and reached speeds of 110 mph across multiple counties, police say.

Both San Antonio police and Bexar County sheriff’s deputies joined the chase as the two individuals speed across U.S. 90, Loop 1604 and Texas 151 before heading north on Loop 410.

Officers deployed road spikes at the Loop 410 and Interstate 10 interchange, according to police. The suspect vehicle drove over the spikes and exited Cherry Ridge Drive where the car came to a stop.

Police say the male driver then fled on foot across Loop 410 but was later arrested. The female, who stayed in the vehicle, was also arrested.

The pair faces multiple charges, according to officers on the scene.
